HERMITAGE TOWER
Gothic military defense tower located near the church of the Virgin of the Way in Cambrils
The Tower of the Hermitage is a Gothic military defense tower built in the 14th century near the church of the Virgin of the Way. It was first used as a watchtower, then as a defensive bastion during the Carlist wars of the 19th century, before becoming a telegraph transmission tower. Today it is part of the Cambrils History Museum, where documents, models and photographs are on display relating the history of the city from the Middle Ages to the present day. It is impossible to miss its ancient silhouette.
