From Saint-Pierre to Saint-Denis, via the three cirques and the volcano, 3,500 runners undertake this 170 km, 10,000 m climb every year! For most of them, the goal is already to finish the route, which can take up to three days. For the leaders, the race is completed in 17 hours! The first to arrive at the Stade de La Redoute in Saint-Denis receive a hero's welcome. The success of this race obliges the organizers to draw lots for the candidates.
