KALI KAMPAL TEMPLE
Not far from the fruit and vegetable market, other rites take place in a beautiful Tamil temple, colorfully decorated with multiple deities. The Kali Kampal Temple is dedicated to the goddess Kâli, symbol of maternal love. In 1917, there was only a small tin temple called Kôvil. It was rebuilt in concrete in 1956 and enlarged in the 1980s to form an architectural complex called Shri Kali Kambal Kôvil. To visit the temples, take off your shoes, get rid of your leather goods and follow the rules on the sign at the entrance.
