A well-established structure that organizes cage dives as close as possible to the great white. Thrills guaranteed! Beyond that, it's possible to join their 10-day expeditions. The company maintains an ethical approach to sharks, an endangered species that it intends to help conserve and protect. Too many films have harmed sharks, particularly the great white shark. Between 150 and 200 million of them are slaughtered every year. An experience like the one offered by White Shark Projects allows you to get up close and personal with these endangered species in a totally respectful way. Departures from Kleinbaai depend on the tide, but be prepared for early morning departures. A transfer from Cape Town can be arranged during the day, departing at around 4 a.m. for a two-hour drive. The boat stays at sea long enough for everyone (max. 18 people) to enjoy the diving. You don't need to be a certified diver; you just stay in the water during the shark's passage, and the cage is not completely submerged. If you're not sure, you can stay on the boat, where you can also watch the sharks from the upper deck. The swell is quite strong, which can turn even the most fragile stomachs inside out, but the spectacle is still impressive. On the way back, you can use the bathroom for a hot shower. Snack cakes, tea and coffee are still available for divers. It's time to share your emotions with your companions.
