MUGA VILANOVA
A visit to this small village allows us to discover the Romanesque church of Santa Eulàlia, with valuable mural paintings
About 5 kilometers southeast of Peralada, by the GIP-6042, a stop in this small village of 250 inhabitants, located near the river Muga, allows us to discover its Romanesque church of Santa Eulàlia, dated from the 11th century and endowed with valuable mural paintings. Among them are the ones in the central nave representing the Pancrator blessing the faithful. You can also visit one of the locks built by the Count of Empúries, Ponç Hug IV, which were used to irrigate the vegetable gardens and to feed the flour mill of Castelló d'Empúries.
