FESTIVAL ERYTHREE

This festival, which is held every year in Asmara, traditionally begins on the last Friday in July and lasts for about ten days. Cultural event of the year, the exhibition attracts approximately 600 000 visitors. The nine tribes of Eritrea are represented and it is possible to witness the performances of each and every one of them. It is possible to taste all kinds of traditional dishes and drinks, stroll along the various local crafts stands, participate in certain rites and ceremonies and even visit traditional houses built there for the occasion. The festival is a good way to deepen its knowledge of Eritrean culture and to meet the nine tribes of the country in one day.
