HOLY MARY CATHOLIC CATHEDRAL
Located in the middle of Harnet Avenue, the Catholic cathedral is a very useful landmark thanks to its 52-metre high tower tower and visible from around the city. Built in two years and opened in 1923, it is now considered the finest example of Lombardy architecture existing elsewhere than in Italy. The Gothic Tower, located in the courtyard, houses 8 bells in perfect condition and offers a superb view of Asmara to the brave who have climbed all the steps. In the cathedral there is also a primary school as well as a monastery and convent, which is possible to visit. Entry is free everywhere, but the guide will wait for a tip.
