FRANSMENN A ÍSLANDI (FRENCH FROM ICELAND)
Documentaries, photos and various objects retracing the history of the French fishermen who came to skim the Icelandic coasts.
In this pretty wooden house, with the Icelandic and French flags flying in front of it (in common colors), you'll learn all about the French fishermen who, for three centuries, came to skim Iceland's coasts. Until 1914, some 5,000 French sailors fished the Icelandic banks every winter. Although modest, this moving museum devotes 2 documentaries to them, as well as numerous old photos, objects and traces of the French heritage in Iceland.
