Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, born on September 24, 1896 in Saint Paul (Minnesota) and died on December 21, 1940 in Hollywood, was a great writer at the beginning of the twentieth century, to whom one owes Gatsby the magnificent (1925). A leader of the "lost generation" and a representative of the era of jazz, he is also the leader of Ernest Hemingway. In 1920, he married Zelda Sayre (1900-1948), born in Montgomery, who will be his ego and who will publish an autobiographical novel Grant me this waltz in 1932. Built in 1910 in the beautiful Old Cloverdale district, the house they occupied from October 1931 to April 1932 is now a museum dedicated to them and is also a dwelling. Possibility to stay on site, reservation on Airbnb (link on the museum site, from US $ 112 at night).
