ROSA PARKS LIBRARY & MUSEUM & CHILDREN'S WING
The building in which the museum is located depends on Troy University and was built at the site of the former Empire Theatre, facing the stop where Rosa Parks refused, on December 1, 1955, to relinquish his place to a White. He recounts the history of the Montgomery bus boycott that lasted more than one year, from December 5, 1955 to December 21, 1956. This veritable arm of iron between the black community, represented by many leaders, including Martin Luther King, and the municipality, was surrounded by serious incidents and several attacks by the Ku Klux Klan and the White Citizens'Council.
The museum includes historical documents, audio-visual media and a part designed to make young people aware of the events of the past in a playful manner: the time machine and a restored 1955 bus.
