The Alabama Department of Archives and History houses the oldest archives of the state. It has a centre for genealogical research and several exhibitions can understand the history of Alabama. The permanent collection includes Amerindian objects, in particular origin Creek, confederate uniforms, flags, arms, letters and intimate newspapers dating from the War of Secession, but also two major global conflicts. In addition to many other objects, there are also effects that belonged to the great artist of the Hank Williams country.
