MOBILE CARNIVAL MUSEUM
The first Mobile Carnival (at Fort Louis time) took place in 1703, 15 years before that of New Orleans. The house where the museum is located dates back to 1872. During the guided tour, we discover the history of Tuesday Gras at Mobile and an exhibition that, on three levels, showcases the most beautiful costumes worn by the kings and queens of the city's white and black communities. Mobile has retained the Tradition of electing their own royal representatives by the two communities. This leads to a doubling of parades and costumes on the same day.
