7TH STREET PUBLIC MARKET
Opened in 2012 and the first market of its kind in North Carolina, the site has about fifteen shops; most of them are restaurants but also a wine shop, a beer bar, a coffee shop and also a jewellery and decorative items shop. Originally, the market was intended to function as an incubator for local businesses. Today, while some decide to test their products on the market before opening other establishments, others choose to stay. This is the case, for example, of the coffee that has been there since the beginning of the 7th Street Public Market. So don't be surprised if institutions change from one visit to another. Its location in the heart of Uptown, close to the tramway line, makes it an ideal lunch destination. Perfect, also, when you are in a group and you don't necessarily have the same desires. Today, such "Food Markets" are popular and are growing like mushrooms in the state's major cities.
