PICNIC
Durham does not lack BBQ addresses, but our favorite is Picnic. A traditional and trendy restaurant, which welcomes its customers in a former converted gas station, which mixes the industrial and raw side with the popular atmosphere of BBQ addresses. If we really like the setting, it is in the plate that the magic really works. At Picnic, we focus on simplicity and product quality. The pigs come from a local farm, as do most products and ingredients. The meat is smoked on site and the side dishes are carefully prepared. As for the famous BBQ sauce, it would be the recipe of the grandmother of one of the owners. You will quickly understand that Picnic's (and North Carolina's) specialty is pulled pork (very tender pork) but you will also find other BBQ specialties classified in the "non-native" section. Fried chicken is also very popular.
