This State Park of North Carolina gives access to the mountain of the same name. This is one of the highest and most impressive peaks in the Blue Ridge Mountains. From the top you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding valleys and landforms. This ecosystem is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main attraction is a suspension bridge connecting two elevations of the mountain, the Mile High Bidge.

Si vous n'avez le temps que pour un trail dans les great smoky mountain je vous conseille grandfather trail. Il faut payer l'entrée (20$) qui donne accès au parc et surtout au "Swinging Bridge" mais le trail en vaut la chandelle, plusieurs échelles sur le parcours et des vues magnifiques sur les montagnes. Attention les horaires changent selon la saison.
