GEORGIA THEATRE
The Art Deco façade that exists today is the product of extensive renovations undertaken in 1935. The original building was built by the YMCA in 1889, later occupied partly by the Majestic Hotel and the Elite Theatre (1918-1924) and then acquired by the box of the Franc who transformed it into a Masonic temple. In the 1960 s, it was used by United Methodist Church before being bought by United Theatre Adidas Inc in 1967, which transformed it into Georgia Theatre. It was only in 1977 that the place became also concert hall. He will subsequently undergo various closures/reinvestigations, as well as a fire in 2009 that will cause two years of rehabilitation. Since 1978 and the first concert of Sea level, David Alan Coe, B 52 ' s, Police, R.E.M. are among the artists and famous groups that have produced it. The Georgia Theatre is now one of Athens'main concert halls. On the top floor, on the terrace, you can enjoy refreshment or lunch at the Rooftop with a magnificent view of the city.
