40 WATT CLUB
The 40 Watt Club is one of the most emblematic concert halls in Athens. Its capacity is 500 places. In the last 35 years, the club has hosted some of the most renowned groups or artists: R.E.M, B -52 ' s, Nirvana, Snoop Dogg, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith and many others.
At the origin of the name, a nickname given in 1979 by the drummer of the group Pylon, native of Athens, at the place which then served as rehearsal to the group. After five moves and a growing success, what became 40 Watt Club finally settled here in 1991.
All the shows are standing. The few seats at the rear of the room are occupied according to the first-come, first served rule.
