UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA
From the university gate (1850), on the sidewalk at Broad Street and College Avenue in Downtown, the promenade takes you through the Historic North Campus, where you can discover the oldest buildings in the Georgia University which is the oldest of the State (1785) and was built before the city (1806). The most famous buildings are Greek Revival Chapel (1832) and the Federal-style Demosthenian Hall (1824).
This tour can also be guided, upon request at the Athens Welcome Center, or with the guides of the University of Georgia Welcome Center. It is a tour guided by bus and foot 75 minutes. The tours of the towers (autotour and guided) are available at www.visit.uga.edu
