TAYLOR-GRADY HOUSE
The Taylor-Grady House is a large house built in 1844 in the Greek Revival style. She was first the property of Robert Taylor (1787-1859), a rich planter who was building her as a country house before settling there permanently. Later, she became the property of the great journalist and speaker Henry Woodfin Grady (1850-1889), who was actively involved in the reintegration of Confederation into the Union following the civil war. The superb residence subsequently changed several hands before being bought by the city in 1966. It is remarkable for its interior, but also for its exterior facade and the beauty of these columns.
