LYNDON HOUSE ARTS CENTER
The site has two entities that operate at the same schedules:
Ware-Lyndon House. Built in 1845 in a Greek Revival style and with Italian influence, this is the last th century house in this northern part of the city. It was built by Dr. Edward R. Ware on a property that stretched to the shores of the river Oconee River. In 1880, shortly after his redemption by Dr. Edward Smith Lyndon, a large portion of the land was sold to permit the passage of the railway. Registered at the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, Ware-Lyndon House has also been a historic monument since 1988. The interior has been restored and furnished with period furniture. Many information panels can understand the history of its successive owners and the city.
Lyndon House Arts Center. It is the cultural centre of the city. This is an extension of the Ware-Lyndon House. There is also an art gallery and a showroom. Many activities are organized there.
