OTIS REDDING FOUNDATION
It is a foundation created in 2007 in honour of the singer of soul Otis Redding (1941-1967), who grew up in Macon, managed by his wife Zelma Redding and daughter Karla Redding-Andrews. The association has an educational purpose and focuses on the awareness and development of the universe of music among young people, including through courses in theory, various instruments, writing and musical creation. It also takes an important part in organizing the cultural activities of the city. Of course, a mini museum to visit allows to remember the life of the exceptional singer, an interpreter of the pipe (Sittin'On) The Dock of the Bay, dead at the age of 26 in an airplane accident.
