TUBMAN AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM
The Tubman African American Museum is the largest museum in the United States dedicated to African art, history and culture. The first part of the visit allows to discover the nine-sign fresco of local artist, Wini McQueen, which recounts the struggles and victories of African-American claims from the 1850 s to 1960 s. A second part of the museum is devoted to African traditions. One of them has temporary exhibitions. Not to miss, the part of the museum devoted to brilliant spirits (inventors, scientists and entrepreneurs) African-American who are the origin of different inventions, the most unusual or playful ones presented here, such as the drummer (egg beater) invented in 1884 by Willis Johnson, the pencil (pencil sharpener), designed in 1859 by John Lee Love, or the super water gun (Super Rocket water gun), which Lonnie Johnson brought to the largest toy in the United States in 1991-1992.
