NATIONAL INFANTRY MUSEUM
Located behind the Fort Benning Infantry Base, the National Infrantry Museum is, as its name suggests, a national museum dedicated to infantry. It was created to pay tribute to the courage of the infantry soldiers, in particular, but also of the army in general. If you are anti-armed, chances are you won't be satisfied with the experience. However, it is an opportunity to enter one of the most cherished universes in the hearts of many Americans and a source of national pride. You will also see many soldiers with their families, the opportunity to share with them their daily lives, their training, their missions... The exhibition begins with a life-size production that will immerse you in the world of 8 major wars. The museum, which prides itself on making the link between the past and the present, dedicates part of its exhibition to daily life in the Infantry. On the ground floor, the galleries resume the main wars. The one dedicated to the First World War hosts, in particular, a reproduction of a trench and the screening of a film of the time. A memorial is also at the heart of the system.
A highlight of the show, a simulation allows visitors, thanks to augmented reality, to enter a mission alone or with the help of companions. The objective being, machine gun in hand, to free hostages and thwart their enemies' plans.
