An upper town home to the former residences of painter Léon Lehmann and playwright Jean Henri Ferdinand Schwindenhammer.
In 1271, the castle's lower courtyard was transformed into the upper town. The remains of the upper gate, adorned with the Ferrette coat of arms, welcome you to rue Saint-Bernard. Follow the Place des Comtes to the historic town hall. The belfry houses the old communal bell, a testament to the passage of time. Walk down to the old stores and residences, including the home of painter Léon Lehmann and the birthplace of Jean Henri Ferdinand Schwindenhammer. Stroll through the Upper Town to the former tithe house and janitor's cottage.
