ST. SIMONS ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE & MUSEUM
Go there and contact
This lighthouse is one of the five found on the coasts of Georgia. It was built in 1872 to replace a precedent dating back to the beginning of the th century. From the top of his 32 metre, he plans his beam 23 miles from the coast. Climb the 129 steps of the circular staircase leading to its summit and enjoy a spectacular view of the ocean. Then explore the former accommodation of the guards who occupied the places successively from 1872 to 1850, before the automation of the lighthouse renders their presence useless. The museum that is located there presents the history of the sites and the region.
