A recording studio set up by Sam Phillips in the early 1950s, to be visited in Memphis
At 18, Elvis Aaron Presley pushes the door of 706 Union Avenue. It was a recording studio mounted by Sam Phillips in the early 1950 s. An engineer of the Désargenté, but a fan of blues, he records Beale Street's great Comme Street, B.B. King or Ike Turner. Until this famous day of 1953 that changes the life of the studio and young Elvis. Sam Phillips is not here to receive him but when his assistant asks him: " How do you sound? " The future King replied to him: " My'am, I donation't sound like nobody '. He will register Who's All Right Mama in this studio, his first tube that drives him to the rank of star. Sam Phillips'nose will let him discover other stars of the moment, including Carl Perkins (Blue Sweden Shoes), Jerry Lee Lewis (Great Balls of Fire) and Johnny Cash (Walk the Line). Nothing has changed or almost since the 1950 s and you feel the atmosphere of the time in the little cafe that serves as a welcome and gift shop today. The guided tour is made by young enthusiastic people who will be able to convey their love of this studio.

Visite uniquement en anglais, donc pas facile à tout comprendre mais on oublie vite ce détail tellement l'endroit transpire la musique...
La visite est très amusante et pleine de vie grâce à son guide très enthousiaste. L'endroit est magique, n'oubliez pas qu' Elvis a enregistré son premier titre dans ce studio et a vu passer les plus grands de la musique américaine : Johnny Cash, BB King...
A la fin de la visite, vous pouvez profiter de la salle d'enregistrement et poser avec le micro dans lequel Elvis a poussé la chansonnette!
