Plantation that lived through the darkest hours of the Battle of Franklin
The Carnton plantation lived in the darkest hours of the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864. She served as a hospital: blood tasks are still visible in the ornate restored interior of the master house. The 1 500 confederate buried on the land of Carnton are testimony of the violence that this battle was.
