The Carter Family home, which survived the Battle of Franklin.
The Carter family survived the battle of Franklin, which took place… in their garden! As refugees in the cellar, Shells lost only one son, Captain Maheu Carter. Among the most violent battles of the Tennessee campaign in 1864, Franklin's defeat helped to ring the end of the confederate army.

The site is nice. But it is very expensive and while visiting is done with audio-guide, they do not choose as languages. Very difficult to understand. It would have been simpler with a guide or writing.
