CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO HOTEL
Chattanooga Choo Choo Complex is the first station to connect Chattanooga to Cincinnati, featuring on-site performance venues.
A visit to Chattanooga inevitably includes a visit to the Chattanooga Choo Choo Terminal and the complex it's part of. This superb station, built in 1908, welcomed passengers until 1970. It owes its fame to the song Chattanooga Choo Choo, written in 1941 by Harry Warren and Macks Gordon, and recorded by Glenn Miller and his orchestra. With over a million records sold, it was the world's first gold record (whose 75th anniversary was celebrated in May 2016). It's easy to see why the tree-lined garden at the center of the site has been given the name Glenn Miller Garden. In this superb space, you can, among other things, ride in a 1924 trolley, spend the night in an antique wagon or dine on the spot while hearing the waiter repeat the lyrics of the famous song. Take advantage of your visit to see the 1880 locomotive on display. It was the first to link Chattanooga to Cincinnati. There are also several cafés and three theaters on site.
