The Big Room, very ornate and huge, is a must-see when visiting Carlsbad Caverns National Park
This is the basic 1.25-mile tour around the cave's largest room. An audio-guide makes it easy to explore. This circular itinerary, lasting around 1.5 hours, takes you past many large and famous formations, including the famous Bottomless Pit, Giant Dome, Rock of Ages and Painted Grotto. Highly decorated and immense, the Big Room is a must during your visit. Access is provided by elevators located in the Visitor's Center. The path's gentle gradient and good lighting make it ideal for visitors who are in a hurry or have difficulty getting around.
Please note: all visitors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. All tours are subject to change for safety reasons.
