CHURCH ACOPERAMANTUL MAICII DOMNULUI
Go there and contact
This church would date from the end of the 18th century and is dedicated to the Intercession of the Mother of God. It was built in Ukrainian larch wood and its foundations are made of stone. In 1825 it was moved to the Palanca cemetery, before being restored in 2007 and moved again in front of the Casa craft museum Părintească. It functioned until 1944, when it was closed. Its architecture is reminiscent of the ancient medieval churches of Romanian Moldavia and includes elements of Baroque style. Some elements are reminiscent of the architecture of the churches of Horodiște and Vorniceni. The roof is made of wooden beams and its central part is domed, forming a dome above which a small bell tower is erected. Looking at the walls made of interlocking wooden beams, one can see plaques with numbers that were used when the building was dismantled and then reassembled.
Nearby, a large wooden portal serves as the bell tower from which four bells of different sizes hang. Masses and celebrations take place here on the occasion of certain major religious holidays. The place is quiet and charming, a small garden surrounds the church. Right next to the church is the museum and the agritourism boarding house Casa Părintească. You can also see a disused white building with stone walls and wooden roof. This building is believed to be the remains of an old stone church.
