CASA PARINTEASCA
The museum Casa Părintească ("the parents' house") allows you to discover local crafts (embroidery, tapestries, pottery) and to learn about them with training sessions. Inaugurated on 26 November 2000, it is a traditional house with four exhibition rooms with unique handcrafted pieces created on site. One can admire there magnificent embroidered blouses. This very lively place promotes traditional Moldovan know-how. Numerous thematic festivals are organized on the spot: the best craftsmen compete there and one can learn about embroidery and carpet weaving. You can see old spinning wheels and different looms in operation. On feast days, concerts and dancers in folk costumes enliven the place.
The visit is followed by a meal consisting of typical Moldavian dishes prepared with fresh local produce. This museum also serves more or less as an agrotourism boarding house. It is possible to take part in the making of home-made jams, to learn about phytotherapy and to go hiking in the region. The accommodation consists of a chalet with a modern and comfortable interior, with bathroom and toilet, a double bed, a convertible sofa, Wifi and a charming fireplace. The premises are charming and quiet, with a lovely garden with many trees and wood carvings. Next to the museum is the church of the Intercession-of-the-Mother-of-God, built in wood in the 18th century.
