THE GREAT PEOPLE OF AFRICA
Incredible giant papier-mâché puppets, the "grown-ups", carried on their backs (about 30 kg!) by dancers, march with their heads held high during festivals such as the Fespaco or during shows organized by the troupe in Burkina Faso, neighbouring countries and even in France. Born from a friendship between French and Burkinabe artists, the Association des Grandes personnes d'Afrique has its workshop in Boromo, with 12 large puppets, 8 mediums and several masks like the one of the old man, the hen or Santa Claus! On a 1,000 m2 site: there are creative workshops, puppet storage, rooms and a self-managed exhibition gallery that presents the work of about ten sculptors. The Great People of Africa can welcome a troop in residence and accompany a creation. Drisse Zongo will accompany you in this world of paper giants, the visit is impressive.
