DONKEY CASTLE
Built in 1404, the castle’s keep and machicolations date back to this period and house the town hall and prehistory museum.
Construction of the château began in 1404. The courtyard of honour, the keep with its battlements and machicolations, and a tour of the castle, remain from this period. You’ll have to climb up to discover the magnificent panorama. The pavilions at each corner date from the late 16th century, and the main buildings from the 18th century. They were rebuilt after a fire, as were the stables built at the same time. The site, restored after the 1944 bombings, is listed as a historic monument. The château houses the town hall and the prehistory museum in the basement.
