One of the oldest buildings in the site, which is built around a patio with several living rooms in Monte Alban
It is one of the oldest buildings on the site, built during Phase I of Monte Albán, at the beginning of its expansion (between 300 and 800). It is built around a courtyard with several living rooms. It is covered with numerous stelae that represent characters, accompanied by calendrical and anthroponymic inscriptions. They are known as Los Danzantes, "the dancers", since the figures are represented in movement, in a dynamic posture, especially in comparison with other human representations of the Zapotec culture.
