LA PEQUEÑA ACRÓPOLIS DE YAXCHILAN
Archaeological site with a dozen distinct buildings built on top of a 50 meter high hill in Yaxchilan.
This archaeological site contains a dozen separate buildings built on top of a 50-metre high hill. Two plazas complete this magnificent petro-vegetal picture, which is less visited and therefore more solitary than the other sites. The site of Yaxchilán, which has long been isolated (accessible only by boat), is located on the banks of the Usumacinta River, which surrounds it in a loop and serves as the border between Mexico and Guatemala.
