NATOIEMI
In 1949, the Finnish government decided to relocate the University of Science and Technology to Otaniemi and chose Alvar Aalto to design the new campus. In addition to the general plans (and the design of all the lamps on campus), he will be the architect of the main building and the library. The Dipoli Congress Centre, built in 1966 just a stone's throw away, is the work of architects Reima Pietilä and Raili Paatelainen, to whom we owe in particular the Kaleva Church in Tampere. The harmony achieved by the combined use of rock, wood and concrete is amazing.
