Located 110 km north of the city of Durango, taking Route 45 to San Juan del Río, La Coyotada is the birthplace of the revolutionary leader Doroteo Arango, who took the name Francisco Villa. A small museum is dedicated to it.
The Coyotada is accessible by bus from the central railway station of Durango. Buses depart every two hours on the Estrella Blanca line to San Juan del Río. Take two hours of journey.
