AVLAKI BEACH
Two beaches south of Porto Rafti. The most beautiful, under the Kourouni peninsula, is a sandy cove to which a fee is charged.
Two beaches here bear the same name (Παραλία Αυλάκι/Paralia Avlaki). The first, arriving from Porto Rafti, stretches for 500 m with pebbles facing the islets of Prasso, Raftopoula and Rafti. Next, a superb little sandy cove with turquoise waters (access for a fee, including parasol and deckchairs) awaits you with parking, bar and showers at the foot of the Kourouni peninsula. This preserves the ruins of a fortress built by Greek-Egyptian troops around 263 BC to support the rebellion of Athens and Sparta against Macedonia.
