This tavern-cafe (Καφενείο Μεζεδοπωλείο) is located at the entrance to the Lavrio fish market. The locals know the address well and crowd around its little wooden chairs from lunchtime to evening. Fava purée, fried fish, marinated octopus, fried squid, mussels in sauce... everything is fresh and delicious. And hats off to the bakaliaros skordalia (fresh fried cod served with garlic purée), a traditional recipe perfectly executed with top-quality ingredients and rarely served elsewhere.
