DOMAINE DE TATOÏ
Former 42 estate of the Greek royal family. Palace and gardens renovated in 2025. Forest partly destroyed by fire.
This 42 km2 state estate (Τατόι) occupies the southeast of Mount Parnes. From 1872 to 1967, it was the resort of the Greek royal family. Currently under renovation, the main palace and its gardens are due to reopen to the public in 2025. A large part of the estate is already accessible with old buildings: farms, barracks, garage, stables... But more than 500 ha of forest were destroyed by fires in 2021 and 2024. To the south, a mausoleum houses the tombs of six of the seven kings of Greece. Only Otto I is buried in Bavaria.
