Located in what were once the palace gardens, now occupied by houses, the place is not visible or indicated from the main road. This small pool takes its name from the Yamuna River which flows in India at the foot of the Taj Mahal and from which sacred water is said to have been drawn and brought here in the time of Para Raja Sekaran (1478-1519), then King of Jaffna.
