The archaeological museum is located in the old building at the back of the property. The place is dilapidated and the dusty display cases accumulate only a few antiquities, including a curious collection of nail shoes. Apart from the whale skeleton on display outside, the museum's most valuable items are a few coins found at the Kathiramalai (Kantharodai) archaeological site, an 11th-century bust of Buddha, and a sedan chair.
