The Muktidham temple, about 7 km south of the city, is considered by Hindus to be a major pilgrimage site. Made of Rajasthani marble, immaculately white, the color of purity, the temple was erected in 1971. It celebrates many Hindu deities. The visit begins with the replica of 12 jyotirlingam which symbolize different manifestations of Shiva. The temple dedicated to Krishna has 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita written on its walls. You will also see paintings depicting scenes from the Mahabharata.
