HOSTEL OF THE MOULDY SISTERS
Auberge des Sœurs Moisy, now a museum with Impressionist drawings on the walls
L'Auberge des Sœurs Moisy provided accommodation for those who came "on foot or on horseback". As early as 1875, it became one of the vacation spots for Impressionist painters, who came to draw their inspiration from the bucolic setting of the Manche Alps. Closed in 1908, the site is now a museum. Its original scenography immerses you in the history of the plastic arts. The inn is famous for its "Salle des Décapités", where artists used to draw charcoal portraits of the inn's guests on the walls, illuminated by candlelight and rendered in shadow.
