MORNE BRUCE
Former British garrison on a small mountain behind the botanical gardens, home to a giant crucifix dating from 1920.
Take the Elmshall Gate. This small mountain is located behind the botanical garden. James Bruce, the English engineer and architect, designed the fortification plans for this former British garrison. Because of its high location, the site enjoys one of the most beautiful views of Roseau and the valley where the giant crucifix dated 1920 is located. The ideal time to climb this green slope is in the late afternoon to enjoy the sunset and see it merge with the sea.
