BŒRI LAKE
The island's largest lake, in a crater 800 m above sea level, is used to supply Dominica with electricity.
After a 1-hour walk from Laudat, you reach Fresh Water Lake, the largest lake on the island, located in a crater 800 m above sea level. The place is remarkable for the purity of its air. The freshwater lake, fringed by lush vegetation, has recently been equipped with a hydroelectric power station, necessary for Dominica's electricity supply. You can also get there by car, as there's a snack bar on site. After a further 1-hour walk, you reach Boer Lake, a smaller crater lake at 900 m altitude.
