Museum featuring a wealth of collections, including iron mannequins, models and costumed dolls

A fascinating museum housed in a former synagogue. The collections are extremely rich and the explanations accessible. An original museography, with an ascending gallery, invites you to follow the moving journey of the Jewish community "from slavery to freedom". Iron mannequins, models, costumed dolls and videos illustrate this eventful history. The emptiness of the building's interior (the Nazis had turned it into a factory) has made it possible to create a bespoke space where the story of the local Jewish community is told.

Really good museum showing the history of Jews in Alsace and by that also the history of the area - and nice solutions like using small dolls to show different. Much larger that expected. The texts are only in French, but you can borrow a summary in English or German. Despite that the museum deserves 5 stars.
