BUREAU DU PARC
Located in western Kenya, near the shores of Lake Victoria, Ruma National Park offers a mosaic of landscapes ranging from riparian woodlands and rolling savannahs to magnificent escarpments and towering cliffs. It is also Kenya's last sanctuary for the endangered roan antelope. Ruma lies in the valley of the seasonally-watered Lambwe River, bordered by the Kanyamwa escarpment to the southeast and the volcanic formations of the Ruri Hills to the north. Ruma's birdlife is exceptional. The park is also the only protected area in Kenya where the blue swallow, a rare and globally threatened intra-African migrant, is regularly observed. Ruma National Park is an unspoilt natural gem, offering a unique wildlife experience in a peaceful, unspoilt setting.
