For a taste of picturesque Sibu, visit this lively market, one of the largest in the country. You'll find everything here, especially Sarawak produce: fruit, vegetables, fresh meat and fish, and even jungle produce such as durian, bananas and pepper. One of the market's many special features is a stall selling live (and surprisingly docile) chickens surrounded by newspaper. Also noteworthy are the Iban women selling their beautiful rattan bags called uyut. Upstairs, stalls selling typical, inexpensive food.
